Leviton Z-MAX Relay Bus Board Installation Procedure
RE:
The Z-MAX Relay Bus Board must be configured for its power source. Failure to configure properly may result
in power supply or circuit board damage. The following procedure outlines how the boards should be
configured for installation.
1. Disconnect power to the Z-MAX Panel
2. Remove failed Relay Bus Board
3. Install new Relay Bus Board
a. For Relay Bus Boards being installed as the first or fourth boards in a cabinet: the header blocks
labeled JP-9 and JP-10 need a black jumper between pins 1 and 2 (See Figure 3a)
b. For Relay Bus Boards being installed in all other cabinet positions: the header blocks labeled
JP-9 and JP-10 need a black jumper between pins 2 and 3 (See Figure 3b)
4. Confirm connections
5. Connect power to the Z-MAX Panel
6. The status LED on the Relay Bus Board should be blinking at a slow rate
7. Press and release each button on the Relay Bus Board
8. The corresponding LED should light up
a. If the LED does not come on in steps 6 or 7, then the board may be malfunctioning; contact
Tech Services at (800) 959-6004 Mon thru Fri 6am-5pm PST.
