Appendix D: Legacy SBIG STF camera models
Certain SBIG STF camera models have been discontinued or superseded,
including:
•
STF-402M is discontinued due to sensor obsolescence. The STF-402M
lacked the user-rechargeable desiccant plug and the I
compatible with the FW8-8300 filter wheel. Instead, it incorporated an
optional built-in four-position filter wheel, which could include either BVI
or RGB filters.
•
STF-1603W is discontinued due to sensor obsolescence. It included the
I C port, external filter wheel support, and user-rechargeable desiccant

plug.
•
STF-1603M was an older version of the STF-1603W. It did not include
the I C port, external filter wheel support, or user-rechargeable desiccant
2
plug.
•
STF-3200M was superseded by the current STF-3200W. The "W" version
includes the I
2
desiccant plug.
•
Previous generation cameras include the ST-402ME, ST-1603ME, ST-
3200ME, ST-8300M, and ST-8300C. These were slower USB 1.1 versions
of the STF cameras.
