Preservation in case of labyrinth seals
Gear units with labyrinth seal are airtight sealed applying the standard preservation with an adhesive tape
on the gap seal of the output shaft. A Vring prevents air exchange on the input shaft.

The adhesive tape must not be removed before startup.
4.4.2
Interior preservation with preservative agent
Before longer periods of storage gear units with forcedlubrication systems, oilcirculation cooling or
noncontacting shaft seals should be filled with preservative agent and run without load.

- Close all holes on the gear unit.
- Replace the air filter with the plug screw.
(Prior to start-up replace screw plug
with air filter.)
- The labyrinth seal on the output shaft
must be sealed with adhesive tape.
(Prior to start-up this adhesive strip must
be removed.)
