MAINTENANCE: Cleaning
The transmitter should be cleaned on a regular basis. The exterior
surfaces may be cleaned with a dampened, lint-free cloth. Use one of the
following cleaning solutions:
ammonia (diluted according to manufacturer's recommendations),
Cidex,
sodium hypochlorite bleach (diluted), or
mild soap (diluted).
CAUTION
Failure to follow the guidelines listed below may result in
the transmitter case's plastic materials melting or
distorting, may dull the finish, blur the lettering, or
cause equipment failures.
To avoid damage to the transmitter, follow these guidelines:
Remove the batteries before cleaning the transmitter.
Disconnect the leadwires from the transmitter.
Always dilute the cleaning solutions according to the manufacturer's
recommendations.
Always wipe off the cleaning solutions with a clean, dry, lint-free
cloth after cleaning.
Never use a cleaning substance that contains wax or wax
compounds.
Never pour or spray water or any cleaning solution on the
transmitter or permit fluids to seep behind connectors or into
openings.
Never use these cleaning agents on the transmitter:
alcohol-based cleaning agents,
abrasive cleaners or solvents of any kind,
acetone,
ketone,
Betadine.
Do not immerse the transmitter in any cleaning solution.
Do not autoclave or steam clean the transmitter.
