MAKE MULTIPLE BACKUPS
If you want to keep multiple backups of a computer, use multiple external hard drives
for that computer.
But unless you want to keep multiple backups of a computer you are needlessly
duplicating your content if you use more that one external hard drive to back up one
computer.
The first time you back up a computer onto any external hard drive,
full backup. The next time you use the same hard drive it backs up only new and
changed content.
So if you use a second external hard drive with the same computer,
with a full backup again.
