The Xantech Xtranet XLIP are IR Network Adapters that convert hex signals sent over IP to IR codes that
can be configured for output from 3.5mm jacks using either IR flashers or direct cabling (see note below).
The Xtranet XLIP232 also supports an RS-232 serial port for control of serial devices.

ODULES SUPPORT THE FOLLOWING FEATURES
IR Output: The Xtranet Modules can send IR signals to IR flashers compatible with ELAN, Xantech,
Speakercraft and Niles (etc.) in output. The Xtranet module IR outputs are fully compatible with all
Xantech IR the frequency range of 30-60KHz. Each includes two connections which can be used for IR
emitters and connecting blocks so the Xtranet series of products can easily be incorporated into existing
systems.
IR Input: The Xtranet Modules are compatible with all Xantech 30-60KHz IR Receivers. Most A/V
equipment utilizes an IR carrier frequency between 20 to 60KHz. Xantech also Manufactures a wide
band IR receiver that will extend the range to cover 20KHz to 100KHz if required.

SUPPORTS THE FOLLOWING FEATURES
RS-232 Ports: The XLIP232 includes one RS-232 port, accessible via 3.5mm mini to DB9 Adaptor
Cable. This provides a convenient means to connect to sub-systems close to the XLIP Module.
IMPORTANT: The XLIP232 serial port is not compatible with all serial devices. Test all serial
devices using this port for proper operation prior to installation. The XLIP-232 only supports Serial
Connections that use RX, TX, GND. It will not Support devices that require RTS, CTS, DTR, or DSR

IR Code Learning: Learning IR codes in g! using the Xantech XLIP Modules is not supported. Elan
recommends using an IRL-2.
Serial Communications Requiring More than RX, TX, and GND: Because the serial communications
are via a 3.5mm to DB9 Adapter, only serial communications using RX, TX, and GND are supported.
