4− The control center will start the furnace blower on low
speed (25% air) 45 seconds after the combustion
cycle has begun. When warm air is sensed by the dis-
charge air sensor, output LED G will light and the
blower will slowly increase to speed required by the
zone calling. The blower will operate at a speed ac-
cording to the setting of the CFM jumper for zone 1
and the jumper for heating air reduction. It may take
the blower 60 to 90 seconds to reach this speed.
5− Remove the heat demand from zone 1.
Input LED W1 off. (No heat demand)
D
LED 1DZ stays off. (Damper is still open)
D
LEDs 2DZ, 3DZ and 4DZ stay on. (Dampers
D
closed)
D
Output LED W1 off. (Furnace off)
D
Output LED G will turn off after several seconds.
Blower will turn off after heat exchanger has cooled
sufficiently.
D
After 5−1/2 minutes 2DZ, 3DZ and 4DZ turn off (all
dampers open).
Gas Multiple Zone Heating
1− Apply heating demand to all thermostats.
Input LEDs W1 through W4 on. (Heat demand)
D
LEDs 1DZ, 2DZ, 3DZ and 4DZ off. (All dampers
D
open)
Output LED W1 on. (Furnace on)
D
2− The furnace will begin its ignition sequence after Zone
1 has demanded heat.
3− The control center will start the furnace blower on low
speed (25% air) 45 seconds after the combustion
cycle has begun. When warm air is sensed by the dis-
charge air sensor, output LED G will light and the
blower will slowly increase to speed required by the
zones calling. The blower will operate at a speed
equivalent to the sum of all zone CFM jumper setting
but at a maximum not to exceed the setting of the
heating air reduction jumper. It may take the blower 60
to 90 seconds to reach this speed.
4− Remove the heat demand from all zones.
Output LEDs W1 and G off (Furnace off). Blower
D
turns off after heat exchanger cools sufficiently.
The last zone thermostat to be turned off will . . .
D
be the last zone damper LED to go out. The others
will now be lit. For example, if the zone 1 thermo
stat is the last thermostat to be satisfied at a call for
heat, then LED 1DZ will be off and LEDs 2DZ, 3DZ,
and 4DZ will be lit.
After 5 1/2 minutes, all dampers will open. All
D
damper motor LEDs will be off.
5− To check the amount of air being delivered to each
zone, repeat steps 2 through 5 for each zone to con-
firm that each zone damper is working properly.
6− Remove all demands.
Gas Central Control Heating
1
Press the central control and fan auto switches on the
system control panel. The control panel may be set for
heating or auto changeover. See figure 28.
The amber LEDs on the central control and fan . .
D
auto switches of the system control panel will be lit.
2
Initiate a heating demand from the master thermostat.
The master thermostat may be in heating or auto
changeover mode.
Input LED W1 on. (Heat demand)
D
LEDs 1DZ through 4DZ off. (All dampers open)
D
Output LED W1 on. (Furnace on)
D
3
The furnace will begin its ignition sequence after Zone
1 has demanded heat.
4
The control center will start the furnace blower on low
speed (25% air) 45 seconds after the combustion
cycle has begun. When warm air is sensed by the dis-
charge air sensor, output LED G will light and the
blower will slowly increase to speed. The blower will
operate at a speed equivalent to the sum of all zone
CFM jumper settings but not to exceed the jumper set-
ting of the heating air reduction jumper. It may take the
blower 60 to 90 seconds to reach this speed.
5
Remove the heat demand from zone 1.
Input LED W1, output LEDs W1 and G off. (No
D
heat input or output and no blower demand)
Furnace blower turns off after heat exchanger
D
cools sufficiently,around 5-1/2 minutes.
6
Apply a heat demand from zones 2, 3, and 4.
LEDs 2W, 3W and 4W will be lit. (Heat input de
D
mand)
Output LED W1 on. (Furnace on)
D
No other LED will be on.
D
C−Heating (Heat Pump Systems)
Heat Pump Single Zone Heating
1
Press the heat switch, zone switch, and the fan auto
switch on the system control panel. See figure 28.
D
The amber LEDs on the heating switch and fan
auto switch of the system control panel will be lit.
2
Initiate a heating demand (and auxiliary heating de-
mand) from zone 1.
Input LED Y1 on. (thermostat)
D
LED 1DZ off. (zone 1 damper open)
D
LEDs 2DZ through 4DZ on. (dampers closed)
D
Output LED G on. (Blower on)
D
Output LED Y1 on. (Compressor on)
D
3
The compressor in the outdoor unit will begin operat-
ing in the heating mode (low speed if a two speed
compressor is used).
4
The indoor blower will start at approximately the same
time. The blower will operate at a speed according to the
setting of the CFM jumper for zone 1. It may take the
blower 60 to 90 seconds to reach this speed.
