Installation Guide Thermia Legend General product information Scrapping When the heat pump has reached end-of-life and is subject to scrap- Caution ping, it should be sent to a recycling/treatment facility to ensure cor- rect handling of disassembly, recycling, and disposal. Local rules and regulations related to correct extraction and disposal of refrigerant and compressor oil must be followed.
Installation Guide Thermia Legend Maximum length of collectors The collector length must be designed for energy extracted from the Caution borehole/ground, which is required for the operation of the heat pump. In the tables below you can see the maximum recommended collector length with regards to the internal brine pump capacity. The tables show maximum recommended collector lengths, calculated for delta of 4.
Installation Guide Thermia Legend Overview image ▪ Hot water ▪ Heating system ▪ Power ▪ Brine Cold and hot water pipes and overflow pipes from safety valves must be made of heat resistant and corrosion-resistant material, e.g. copper. The safety valve overflow pipes must have an open connection to the drain and visibly flow into this in a frost-free environment.

Installation Guide Thermia Legend When the heat pump is in position, remove the transport safety. (If the heat pump should be moved further, put back the transport safety.) Make sure all parts of the transport safety is removed! The heat pump should be placed on a stable floor with a floor well (so any condensation may drain from the condensation hole in the bottom of the heat pump), preferably a concrete floor.

Top knock-out Equipment set-up for installing Filler cock If the level vessel cannot be installed at the highest point or the thermic expansion of the brine is expected to exceed the volume of the vessel it should be considered to install a pressure ves- sel instead.
Installation Guide Thermia Legend General information for brine connection The quick couplings included are tool-free and pushed in place. The coupling locks automatically. Before mounting, check that there are no sharp edges or irregularities on the pipe that could damage the rubber sealing in the couplings and cause leakage. The coupling can be rotated after mounting on pipes.

Installation Guide Thermia Legend Filling and bleeding Filling and bleeding the brine circuit 1. Mix clean water and antifreeze ethanol for heat pump use to the correct freezing point in an clean external container. 2. Use a refractometer to check the freezing point, for the brine collector circuit, -17±2°C.
Installation Guide Thermia Legend Commissioning 10.1 Commissioning Check that all installation steps are done and then turn on the power. The display will light up whit in a few seconds. If any alarms occurs directly at start up (e.g. phase fault), go to alarms section of this manual.

Installation Guide Thermia Legend 10.1.6 Heating settings, general The indoor temperature is adjusted by changing the heat pump’s heat curve and room settings. The heat curve is used for the controller to calculate and make sure that the heat pump supply heating, based on the outdoor temperature. A colder outdoor temperature re- sults in more heat being supplied to the heating system to obtain a pleasant indoor temperature in any weather condition.
Installation Guide Thermia Legend Room adjustment example at room 20 (with heat curve 40) The ROOM value (e.g. 20°) is used to lift or lower the heat curve (keeping the same inclination) with (default) 3 degrees / step. This means that the indoor temperature will change approx 1 degree per step up or down on room value change.
Installation Guide Thermia Legend Parameter Description Used to adjust the heat curve at an outdoor temperature of 0°C. CURVE 0 Used to adjust the heat curve at an outdoor temperature of -5°C. CURVE -5 This function stops all production of heat when the outdoor temperature is equal to, or higher than, the heat stop HEAT STOP value currently set.
Installation Guide Thermia Legend 10.1.10 Brine monitoring In cases where there is a risk that the energy out take becomes too large for the collector (and the borehole becomes too cold), "Brine in monitoring" can be activated in the display.
Installation Guide Thermia Legend 10.1.11 Activate manual test Manual test can be used to test run the heat pump components. At manual test some heat pump controller functions are inactivated. Therefore, don´t set the heat pump into operating conditions that can damage the installation. The installation may only be commis- sioned if the heating system, water heater and brine system have been filled and bled.
Installation Guide Thermia Legend ▪ COMPRESSOR: In this mode the aux heater is blocked and will never assist. (=e.g. no backup heating in case of alarms and no anti legionella top up heating of hot water). There fore this setting is not recommended for use as a permanent operating mode, or when the property is unattended.
Installation Guide Thermia Legend 10.2 Alarms If an event occurs that triggers an alarm this is indicated in the display with the text ALARM and the relevant alarm message. The most common alarm messages are: Message Meaning Air in the heating circuit/hot water tank coil or blocked flow in the heating circuit. Check flow, bleed and run manual HIGH PRES- test and listen for air and run reversing valve for hot water.
▪ Reversing valves are 230V type. ▪ The table below is created with the functionality available from display software version 1.50 for the machine profile "Legend". ▪ Max permitted total & single load on 230V relay output (external system pump, brine pump) is 5A.
