Always wear eye protection when performing service, maintenance or installation procedures. Other safety equipment to consider would be hearing protection, gloves and possibly a full face shield, depending on the nature of the task.
  • Page 6 Front shade extension stanchions and tie-down straps are folded, rolled up inside the shade fabric and tucked into the bimini's front pocket for storage. Two adjustable front support straps provide additional tension to the bimini top to help prevent vibration of the frame in high speed boating conditions.

    Bimini Top Positions Do NOT trailer or tow the boat without the protective boot properly installed on the top and without the top in its full down position. Trailering or towing the boat without the top in its full down position and without the protective boot properly installed can cause serious damage to the top's framework, which could cause severe product and/or property damage, including serious personal injury.

    Do NOT open or operate the top in excessively high winds. Having the top open or operating the top in high winds, regardless if the boat is in motion or anchored, can cause serious damage to the top's framework, which could cause severe product and/or property damage, including serious personal injury.

    Operation Before operating the power bimini top, thoroughly inspect the area around the entire bimini assembly. Verify that all passengers are in a safe position and that nobody is in an area that will interfere with the motion of the bimini or serious personal injury or severe product damage may occur.

    Helm-mounted Switch—if so equipped For proper operation of the four available power bimini top positions from the helm-mounted switch, make sure: The protective boot is properly installed when the top is in the Radar (Fig. 4) or Fully Closed (Fig. 5) position. To press and hold the helm switch button until the actuator motor turns itself off, then release the switch button.

    Programming Additional Key-Fobs (Remotes)—Optional Locate the Program Button (Fig. 8) on the RF Receiver. Press the Program Button until the red Status Light (Fig. 8) illuminates, then release the button and the Status Light will turn off. Within five seconds, press any button on the key-fob (remote) (Fig. 6). Verify that the RF receiver Status Light blinks.

    Do NOT fully open the bimini frame without the canvas top installed. Opening the bimini frame without the canvas top installed will result in severe product damage. Only fully open the bimini frame with the canvas top installed. Do NOT open or operate the top in excessively high winds. Having the top open or operating the top in high winds, regardless if the boat is in motion or anchored, can cause serious damage to the top's framework, which could cause severe product and/or property damage, including serious personal injury.
  • Page 22 Touch and hold the controller's RAISE button (Fig. 10A) to fully extend the bimini top. NOTE: Do NOT fully open the power bimini without the canvas top installed or failure of the system will result. The controller's operation indicator light will turn on green (Fig. 10B). The light will turn off after the system has completed its travel.

    If so desired, reconnect the front support straps after the front shade extension has been disconnected and stowed. The front shade extension connects to Lippert canopies with the front, zippered storage pocket. Forward (front) If necessary, open the bimini top to its fully opened position.

    Courtesy Light—if so equipped The power bimini courtesy light (Fig. 44), located in the center of the overhead mid-frame connecting bow, turns on when the boat's electrical system is turned on and turns off when the boat's electrical power is turned off.
  • Page 40: Adjustable Front Support Straps-If So Equipped

    Front support arms add to the bimini frame's structural strength and to the overall awning assembly during boating at moderate speeds, in gusty winds and inclement weather. Lippert front support arms are easy to deploy and store away neatly and securely when not in use.

    Manual Override If the power bimini top will not retract into the radar or fully retracted position, a manual override of the power bimini top must be done before putting the pontoon underway. Perform a manual override of the power bimini top as follows: If the front shade extension is deployed, disconnect the front shade extension stanchions and tie- down straps.

    Maintenance Fabric Care Heat and sun will deteriorate any fabric top. Leaving the top open all of the time can shorten the lifespan of the fabric. Folding the top back and covering it with the protective boot when the pontoon is not in use, the boot fabric may deteriorate over time, but the top's fabric will remain protected.
