Cut in the power supply
WARNING
You will not be able to apply or
release the EPB if there is a cut
in the power supply e.g. flat battery,
failure of the alternator or vehicle
electronics.
If the battery is flat, use jump leads
and a booster battery. See Using
booster cables (page 239).
General notes on the EPB
Note: When the vehicle is parked
with the EPB applied, the EPB will be
tensioned automatically. This occurs
around three minutes after the EPB
is applied and only under certain
conditions. You will hear a noise from
under the vehicle. This is normal and
no cause for concern.
Note: You may notice various noises
when the EPB is applied and
released. This is normal and no cause

Meaning
This indicates a serious malfunc-
tion of the EPB. The EPB will not
operate. Have the system
checked by an expert as soon
as possible.
