- Page 3 Assembly and Operation Step 1: Attach the finial on the um- Step 2: Insert the bottom pole into the brella top (if unattached) by screwing upper pole while pressing the snap but- the finial onto the threaded top. Twist ton on the bottom pole until the snap until secure but, do not over tighten.
