6. Making connections

This display provides several input/output terminals for connecting various
external audio/video equipment. These terminals are different in shape and
color, and each carries specific audio/video signals and provides different
levels of picture quality.
The table below shows generally the types of terminals and the picture quality
levels they provide. It is recommended that you use the terminal that provides
the best possible picture quality for connection if the external audio/video
equipment supports it.

• This display does not support the simultaneous display of two or more input
pictures, such as the picture-in-picture function.
• In order to fully utilize the high-definition capability of this display, you should
adjust the output resolution of the source device (for example, DVD player or
PC) to closely match the native resolution of the display. For example, 1080p for
Component/HDMI video or 1920 × 1080 @ 60Hz for PC video. For more
information on how to adjust output resolution on the source device, please
refer to the instructions of the device.
Pay attention to the following when making connections:
• Before connecting any devices, please turn the device and display off.
• Familiarize yourself with the connectors and sockets on the equipment you want
to connect and the display. Be aware that if incorrect connections are made,
picture quality may be adversely affected.
• Do not pull cables out of sockets by grasping the cable itself, as you may
damage the cable. Only ever remove cables from sockets by grasping the plug
on the end of the cable.
• Once connected, please ensure that all plugs are fully inserted and firmly
seated.
• Use the cable clip to route the cables properly.
