Exhaust Pressure (EP) Sensor

The PCM uses the EP sensor to monitor exhaust pressure, which is used to control the VGT and the EGR
valves.
•
An important point to remember is that a VREF shorted to ground at the EP sensor on the 6.0L prevents engine
startup by shutting down the PCM. This can also result in a no-crank condition.
•
The EP is a variable-capacitance sensor.
•
The EP sensor uses 5 volt VREF to produce an analog EP signal.
•
The EP sensor uses signal return from the PCM as a ground.
