Exhaust Pressure (EP) Sensor
Exhaust Pressure (EP) Sensor
The PCM uses the EP sensor to monitor exhaust pressure, which is used to control the VGT and the EGR
valves.
An important point to remember is that a VREF shorted to ground at the EP sensor on the 6.0L prevents engine
startup by shutting down the PCM. This can also result in a no-crank condition.
The EP is a variable-capacitance sensor.
The EP sensor uses 5 volt VREF to produce an analog EP signal.
The EP sensor uses signal return from the PCM as a ground.
