Assembly, Installation and Operating Instructions
DEALER: These instructions MUST be given to the user of this product.
NOTE: Check ALL parts for shipping damage. If shipping damage is noted, DO NOT use. Contact carrier/dealer for further instruction.
• DO NOT use this product or any available optional equipment without first completely reading and understanding these
instructions and any additional instructional material such as owner's manuals, service manuals or instruction sheets supplied
with this product or optional equipment. If you are unable to understand the warnings, cautions or instructions, contact a
healthcare professional, dealer or technical personnel before attempting to use this equipment - otherwise, injury or damage
may occur.
• Grab Bars add security for bath and commode areas when attached as recommended. To provide optimum safety and function,
location, size, and angle of bar(s) MUST be determined by a qualified professional.
• Use EXTREME caution on wet tub or floor surfaces.
• Users with limited physical capabilities should be supervised or assisted when using Grab Bars.
• ALWAYS observe the weight limit on the labeling of your product. Check that all labels are present and legible. Replace if
necessary.
• The grab bar provides support and increases stability for an individual. The grab bar is not designed to support the total weight
of an individual.
• To ensure the user's safety, installation MUST be done by a qualified professional.
• After installation, ANY adjustments and BEFORE use, make sure all attaching hardware is tightened securely. NEVER use the
Grab Bar if ANY looseness is detected.
• The Grab Bar MUST be installed so the mounting brackets are on wall studs. At least two of the three screws on each mounting
bracket MUST attach through the wallboard or tile and secure into the wall studs. Special fasteners may be required if wall studs
are not in the desired mounting location.
• The standard distance is 16-inches between centers of wall studs. Older homes do not always fall in line with current codes. Grab
Bars can be installed vertically, horizontally or at an angle, but the screw holes of the grab bar MUST be aligned so at least two
of the three mounting screws are secured into the wall studs
• When drilling into the wall, exercise care to avoid any electrical wiring or plumbing that may be located behind the wall. As
older homes do not always fall in line with current housing codes and requirements, know where internal wall wiring and
plumbing is located so there is no interference with installation.
• Damaged electrical wiring can cause electrical shock and
fire.
