CHAPTER THREE – BASIC FUNCTIONALITY
To connect Morphic to Windows PC:
1. Connect the Mini-B connector of a USB cable to the docking cradle
and the cable's other end to the USB socket on your Windows PC
2. Dock your up-and-running Morphic into the docking cradle. The USB
link establishing starts and it is finished in a moment. What follows
depends on the USB profile selected on your Morphic.
For example, when Morphic acts as an USB mass storage device you see it as
an USB memory dongle on your PC system, meaning that you see the Flash
directory off the root of the Windows CE file system on your Morphic.
Connecting
Before you begin:
Morphic to LAN
Ethernet cable with the RJ-45
plugs at the both ends, that is, a
standard Ethernet cable.

You need to have the assembled
wall charger available with the
correct AC adapter attached to it.
(The Ethernet interface on the
docking cradle is powered by the
wall charger only.)
3. Be aware that the type of the Ethernet interface on the docking cradle
is a 10/100BASE-TX, that is, a standard Ethernet interface on the
devices.
4. Be aware that the following instructions assume IP-address assigning
to your Morphic to have been determined. In other words, your Morpic
either receives an IP-address from LAN, or it has been assigned to a
static IP-address for IP-networking.
To connect Morphic to LAN:
1. Plug the docking cradle into mains by plugging the lead from the wall
charger into the charger socket on the cradle, and by plugging the wall
charger into mains
2. Connect the RJ-45 plug to the RJ-45 socket on the docking cradle, and
the other end of the cable to the RJ-45 socket of your wired Ethernet
system.
3.
Dock your up-and-running Morphic into the docking cradle. The
initialization of TCP/IP-protocol stack starts and it is finished in a
moment. After that your Morphic is ready for networking across the
LAN.
