6710 Access Point User's Guide
Description
This option adjusts the S-UHF protocol
characteristics for smaller data frames.
The recommended setting in most cases is
Disabled. For installations that primari-
ly send very small frames, Enabled at the
default value of 70 may improve network
response time.
For reliable transmission, large frames
may be fragmented or split into several
smaller frames. The receiver reassembles
the fragments into a complete frame. The
default is 250.

This option establishes an awake time
after a station transmits. Portable
stations do not enter a power managed
state for this time period. The access
point may deliver a response without
using the pending message delivery
mechanism during the awake time.
The time is specified in tenths of seconds.
When awake time is Disabled (the
default), each station uses its own default
(2 seconds for 900 MHz or S-UHF
stations). Longer awake times may
reduce station battery life.
