(1) Install the battery before connecting the probe to the unit. Remove the probe from the unit before when replacing battery, (2) Remove the screw holding the battery cover by turning it counterclockwise with a Phillips screwdriver.
  • Page 7 Note: Auto power-off is no longer cancelled once the unit is turned off. Perform the auto power-off canceling each time as necessary. 5. Temperature compensation function The SK-620PHII is equipped with two types of temperature compensation. • Automatic temperature compensation (ATC) The sample temperature is measured by the temperature sensor included in the pH sensor, and is automatically compensated.
  • Page 8 * The pH standard solutions which come with SK-620PHII are used as a reference. For accurate calibration, separately prepare the standard solutions. * Optional probes other than 640S-2 probe can use the pH standard solution bottle which comes with SK-620PHII as a substitute for a beaker at calibration.
  • Page 9 (7) When the voltage reading becomes stable, set the calibration value to "4.01" (↓) key. by pressing the pH/mV (↑) or The calibration value is different from the temperature of solution. The right display is when the pH value of the standard solution at 25°C is "4.01".
  • Page 10 The table below shows the pH value range to be entered for calibration. Calibration point pH value range pH 4 3.50 to 4.50 pH 7 6.50 to 7.50 pH 10 9.50 to 10.50 Note that it is not possible to perform calibration using the oxalate standard solution (pH 1.68 at 25°C) or borate standard solution (pH 9.18 at 25°C) (8) Press the REC key and [SA] is displayed on the LCD to indicate that the calibration data has been stored in the unit memory.
  • Page 11 Backlight function SK-620PHII is provided with a backlight function. Pressing the key lights the LCD in green. This permits the pH readings on the LCD to be read easily even in a dark place.

  • Page 13 About the glass electrode (1) Storage If the glass electrode becomes dry, it cannot measure the pH accurately. The pH electrode works best and shows accurate readings when used with moderate moisture. When using the unit for the first time after purchasing or a long storage period, we recommend placing the glass electrode in water (distilled, pure or tap water) or the pH standard solution (pH4) for at least 12 hours and performing calibration before measuring.
