INSTRUCTION

part in the opposite direction
4) On some machines it is possible to lengthen, rotate or tilt the edge cutter. See figure
N (where fitted). After disconnecting the power supply ...
- To change the edge trimmer angle: Push the casing locking lever (a) downwards,
adjust the angle to any of the 3 possible positions (b) and release the lever.
- To extend and/or rotate the edge trimmer: Pull the pipe clamp pawl (c) outwards
and simultaneously pull and/or rotate the casing or the central pipe in relation to
the upper handgrip (d) and choose any of the positions allowed for, then release
the pawl.
For vertical cuts, use the edge trimmer set up as indicated in the drawing (e).
5) To switch off the machine, release the power switch.
WARNING! After switching off the machine, the cutting device continues to rotate
for a few more seconds.
PRECAUTIONS AND GUIDELINES FOR USING THE MACHINE
WARNING! Never use the machine without the guard (if it is supplied separately).
WARNING! A short or worn line cuts less efficiently so read the instructions on
adjusting line length in the chapter 'STARTING AND STOPPING THE MACHINE'
or replace it in accordance with the instruction in the following chapter.
WARNING! Your machine may be equipped with an electrical protection device
that stops the motor automatically if it is overloaded. If this happens, wait a
few minutes before starting it again and press the reset button (no. 15 fig. A),
if present.
Start off slowly and follow the instructions below carefully:
- Before starting to operate the machine, make sure that the work area is free of
rocks, debris, lines and other foreign objects.
- Start the machine before approaching the grass to be cut.
- Cut the grass by swinging the machine from right to left and proceed slowly keeping
the trimmer inclined forwards at an angle of about 30° (Fig. F).
- High grass should be cut in layers, always beginning from the top. (Fig. G).
- Do not cut damp or wet grass.
12) Remain in a stable and secure position while using the machine.
13) Keep the area being cut free from lines, stones and debris.
14) Do not cut against hard objects. This could cause injury or damage the machine.
15) Never use the machine without the guard (if it is supplied separately). Never use
the machine if the guard is damaged.
WARNING! The guard is vital for your and other people's safety and for the
machine's operating efficiency. Failure to comply with these safety regulations
is not only dangerous but also annuls the terms of the guarantee.
16) Be careful of the line-cutting blade, which can cause serious injury.
17) Do not try to stop the cutting device (nylon line) with your hands. Always let it
come to a stop by itself.
WARNING! After switching off the machine, the cutting device continues to rotate
for a few more seconds.
18) Only use the original type of nylon line. Under no circumstances use metal line
instead of nylon.
19) Do not use the machine to cut grass which is not in contact with the ground; for
