3. Start-Up and Operation:
a. First: Turn on the unit with the power switch located between the hand cart and the backside of the air handler on
the lower left side.
Second: Set the desired operating temperature using the hand held Temperature Controller.
b. Temperature Controller Operation: The Temperature Controller is an electronic low voltage (24VAC) microproc-
essor. The 8 foot long thermocouple probe extending from the top of the display enclosure is water proof but the
enclosure itself is not. Note that a wet thermocouple will give you a false reading of the surrounding air. Place the
thermocouple at the desired location being cooled making sure that the black end is suspended in the air and is not
in contact with any surfaces. The controller reads the temperature at the thermocouple. The set point is the setting
at which the compressor will turn shut down and the differential setting is the degrees from set point at which the
controller will recycle the compressor. This setting will also determine the compressor cycle rate.
Example: If the set point is set at 70° and the differential is set at 5°, the compressor will turn shut down at 75°
and recycle at 70 °.
Compressor Cycle Rate: During normal operation the cycle rate of the compressor should not exceed five (5)
c. Do not repeatedly cycle the air conditioners power switch. Proper cycling of the compressor is attained via the set-
ting of the temperature controller. Repeated powering on and powering off of the unit can cause the system to short
cycle and result in damage to the components. If the air conditioner is powered off or unplugged for any reason, wait
three (3) to four (4) minute before restarting the unit.
4. Programming The Temperature Controller:
Step 1: To start programming, press the SET key once to access the Fahrenheit/Celsius mode. The display will show
either F for degrees Fahrenheit of C for degrees Celsius. Press either the up or down arrow key to toggle
between the F or C designation.
Step 2: Press the SET key again to access the set point. The LCD will display the current set point and the S1 annun-
ciator will be blinking to indicate that the controller is in the set point mode. Then press either the up key to
increase or the down key to decrease the set point for the desired temperature.
Step 3: Pressing the SET key again accesses the differential temperature mode. The LCD will display the current
differential and the DIF1 annunciator will be blinking. Press either the up key to increase of the down key to
decrease the differential to the desired setting.
Step 4: Press the SET key again to access the cooling or heating mode. The LCD will display either C1 or H1. Set
the C1 cooling mode by using either the up key or down key to toggle to the cooling mode. Press the SET
key once more & programming is complete.
Temperature Control Lockout Switch
The hand held Temperature Control is provided with a lockout switch to prevent tampering by unauthorized person-
nel. When placed in the LOCK position, the keypad is disabled and no changes to the settings can be made. When
in the UNLOCK position, the keypad will function normally. To access the lockout switch, disconnect the power
supply and open the controller enclosure. The switch is located on the inside of the cover. All control settings are
retained in Nonvolatile memory. Re-programming is not necessary if power is interrupted or between usage.
Controller Circuit Board
The Controller Circuit Board is located on the bottom inside back wall of the main frame. Only a trained tech-
nician should service this circuit board. Access the board by removing the left hand lower side panel
and/or the front lower panel. All functions of the air conditioner are monitored by the microprocessor on the circuit

cycles per hour (12min) but not fewer than three (3) per hour (20min). *Running
the compressor continuously can cause the evaporative coil to freeze up in
humid conditions.
