    Using optical disc drives The illustrations in this section might differ slightly from your drive, but operation is the same for all optical disc drives. The full-size drive provides high-performance execution of disc-based programs. You can run either 12 cm (4.72") or 8 cm (3.15") discs without an adapter. An ATAPI interface controller is used for disc drive operation.

    Cleaning the computer To help ensure long, trouble-free operation, keep the computer free of dust and use care with liquids around the computer. ■ Be careful not to spill liquids into the computer. If the computer does get wet, turn the power off immediately and let the computer dry completely before you turn it on again.

    Power indicator Check the Power indicator to determine the power status with the AC adapter connected: Blue/Green Indicates power is being supplied and the computer is turned on. Power indicator is located inside of the Power Button (depending the model you purchased) and in the front of the computer.

Cover the terminals with electrical tape to prevent short-circuits, which could cause the battery pack to ignite or rupture.

If you continue to use the computer while the Battery indicator flashes, the computer enables Hibernation mode (so you don't lose data) and automatically turns off.

    Replacing the battery pack When the battery pack reaches the end of its operating life you will need to install a new one. If the Battery indicator flashes amber shortly after the battery has been fully recharged, the battery pack needs to be replaced. You might also replace a discharged battery pack with a charged spare when you are operating your computer away from an AC power source.
