it with compressed air Attention: in case of cleaning
dust-collecting container 7 with water, use it only
after complete drying.
• Install the cover 9 on its place - both cover plastic
holding locks 9 should click
Initial operating of the power tool
Always use the correct supply voltage: the power sup-
ply voltage must match the information quoted on the
power tool identification plate.
Switching the power tool on / off
Switching on:
Move on / off switch 3 forward (see fig. 4.1).
Switching off:
Move on / off switch 3 backward (see fig. 4.2).
Dust suction during the power tool op-
eration
Dust collection decreases dust concentra-
tion in the air and prevents build up of dust
at the work station
Use of vacuum cleaner
During prolonged wood machining or when processing
materials that produce dusts hazardous to health, the
power tool should be connected to a proper vacuum
cleaner
Given power tools may cooperate with the vacuum
cleaner only when used with a relevant connector
One should monitor dust level in the bag and empty the
bag at relevant time, taking the aforesaid precautions
Design features of the power tool
Oscillation rate regulator
The oscillation rate regulator 1 is purported to set the
desired oscillation rate of sanding plate 5
The required oscillation rate depends on the type of
processed material, work conditions and must be set
on the basis of practical trials for best results
During prolonged work at low oscillation rate, one
should allow the power tool to cool down for 3 min-
utes For this purpose, set the maximum oscillation
rate and allow the power tool to work without load
Recommendations on the power tool op-
eration
Sanding sheet selection
• Prior to commencement of work, select the sanding
sheet type that is most suitable for the processed ma-
terial or surface. The type of sanding sheet is specified
on the package One may also ask the vendor for more
information
• Various works require the use of sanding sheet of
different coarseness, allowing a surface of required
smoothness to be obtained:
• in order to flog timber or unplanned boards, re-
move paint or rust, it's recommended to use abra-
sive paper with 40-60 grain size;
• in order to remove minor roughness on surface of
wooden blanks, polish prime coating etc, it's recom-
mended to use abrasive paper with 80-120 grain size;
• for fine polishing of wooden blank surfaces,
grinding of hardwood of prime coatings before
painting, it's recommended to use abrasive paper
with 180-320 grain size
• The data above are a recommendation only, the
best method to select the grain size for the treated ma-
terial is practical testing
Sanding
Prior to commencement of work one
should perform test sanding on an un-
necessary element (made of the same
material or with the same coating as the
machined component) to ensure that the coarse-
ness and type of sanding sheet, as well as the
oscillation frequency of the sanding plate 5 have
been selected properly.
• Ensure that the element to be sanded is firmly se-
cured
• Turn on the power tool earlier, before sanding
plate 5 touches the element to be sanded and allow
the engine of the power tool to reach maximum oscil-
lation rate
• Apply sanding plate 5 to the surface of the machined
element and move the power tool in circular or recip-
rocating motion
• Perform sanding with the whole surface of sanding
plate 5
• Do not press the power tool excessively, since this
will not provide better results, but will only overload the
engine of the power tool and will result in higher sand-
ing sheet consumption
• Do not stop the power tool in a single spot this will
result in a depression in the stoppage place
• At relevant time, replace the used or dust-blocked
sanding sheets
• Use sanding sheets of varying coarseness com-
mence the work with a coarse sheet and gradually pro-
ceed to finer sheets. It will make the work faster and
will result in smoother surface
• Do not reuse sanding sheets that were previously
used for sanding metal for any other materials
Power tool maintenance / preventive
measures
Before carrying out any works on the power tool it
must be disconnected from the mains.
Cleaning of the power tool
An indispensable condition for a safe long-term exploi-
tation of the power tool is to keep it clean Regularly
flush the power tool with compressed air thought the
ventilation slots 2
