Open the printer's top cover. The arrow on top of the print cartridge cradle points to
one of five Print Status icons revealing the status of the print cartridge.
1. tri color cartridge problem icon 2. black cartridge problem icon
3. tri color cartridge low ink icon 4. black tri color cartridge low ink icon
5. cartridge OK icon 6. indicator arrow
troubleshooting problems with tri color or black print cartridges
If the arrow points to a print cartridge problem icon, the print cartridge is either
missing, improperly installed, defective, or the wrong print cartridge fort he printer.
Perform the following tasks to correct the problem.:

is defective or not

number.
Tri-color print
cartridge is low on
ink
Black print cartridge
is low on ink
Print cartridges are functioning normally.

1. Remove and reinsert the
print cartridge.
2. If there is still a problem,
verify that the correct print
cartridge is installed. See print
cartridges for part numbers
3. Replace the print cartridge if
the problem persists. See replacing
print cartridges for directions
