I currently have a sea star pro hydraulic steering on my Mercury 300x. I am considering switching to a Mercury 450R. This engine requires power assisted steering. What parts do I need to convert? Can I use my current helm?

To convert from SeaStar Pro hydraulic steering to power-assisted steering for a Mercury 450R, you will need:
- A SeaStar Power Assist PRO unit (PA1315-2) - An additional pair of hydraulic hoses - A single length of hydraulic nylon tubing (for compensating line only) - SeaStar EPS steering fluid (HA5483)
The current SeaStar Pro helm cannot be used with the Power Assist PRO unit, as the compatibility chart indicates the PRO unit is not compatible with the SeaStar Pro helm. A compatible helm (such as SeaStar standard helms of 1.4, 1.7, or 2.0 displacement) must be used.
