Description
Comments
This hardware release addresses a component
obsolescence issue. There are no changes to form, fit, or
function.
In RX3i Ethernet firmware 6.40, an issue was introduced
where an ETM001 will continue to respond to the
redundant IP address even after it is switched to backup
mode. This problem has been corrected in firmware
version 6.41.
This problem does NOT exist on RX3i ETM firmware
versions prior to 6.40.
An enhancement was made to prevent the module from
becoming unresponsive and requiring a power cycle if it
was subjected to heavy network storm traffic. Reference:
GE Security Advisory is GE15-09, titled Network Storm
Denial of Service
In addition to the enhancement there were issues resolved.
Please refer to the "Problems Resolved by This Release"
section (above) for more details.
Firmware release 6.31 (IC695ETM001-HU) provides a Field
Upgrade Kit to address an issue identified with
IC695ETM001-GT where the module can unexpectedly go
into firmware update mode (Ethernet OK, LAN OK, and Log
Empty LEDs blink in unison). While in firmware update
mode, the module is unresponsive to Ethernet traffic
