- Page 13 AC 1020 COOLING SYSTEM FILLING/DRAINING DEVICE STEP 1: DRAINING THE CIRCUIT • Before starting, turn on the vehicle’s engine and let it run for a few minutes until the fan starts. This will confirm that the system thermostat is open. Then turn off the engine to start the draining process.

To do so, hold the vacuum in the circuit for a few seconds. If the needle of the pressure gauge on the waste fluid tank rises, there is probably a leak in the circuit.
