Do you have a question about the EFIC255-GREY and is the answer not in the manual?

Questions and answers

Heather Whittier

Our ice maker will not make ice. Plugged in, filled water, hit ice button, water is just draining to the tank below. It doesn't appear the refrigerator motor is engaging. We've only had this appliance since October 2024.

@Heather Whittier how did you fixt it?

Mr. Anderson
May 15, 2025

If the Frigidaire EFIC255-GREY ice maker is not making ice and water is draining to the tank below, possible issues include:

1. The internal water tank baffle is not installed properly — reinstall it correctly.
2. The water pump may have failed — requires verification by a qualified technician.
3. The ambient or water temperature is too high — ensure it is below 90°F and use colder water.

The ice button on the Frigidaire EFIC255-GREY may not be working because the water drain cap is not properly inserted into the drainpipe. If the cap is missing or not correctly placed, the appliance will not function properly. Ensure the drawer tank is filled with water and the drain cap is securely in place.

@Mr. Anderson it is in place properly and the unit is full of water. I ran the self-clean cycle but now the ice button won’t turn on.

it just fills the lower take with water. Light above the clean button will not light up.

The issue could be caused by the water drain cap not being inserted into the drainpipe. If the cap is not inserted, the appliance will not work properly, which can prevent the clean button light from illuminating. Make sure the drawer tank is filled with water and the drain cap is securely inserted into the drainpipe before starting the cleaning procedure.

Why are all the control panel lights not working

1 comments:
Mr. Anderson
May 22, 2025

The control panel lights on the Frigidaire EFIC255-GREY may not be working due to one of the following reasons:

1. The unit is not properly plugged in or the power supply is interrupted.
2. There is a problem with the power cord, such as damage.
3. The appliance is not connected to a properly polarized outlet.
4. The fuse is blown or the circuit breaker is off at the household panel.
5. Pressing the Power ON/OFF button does not fully disconnect power; the unit must be unplugged or power must be shut off at the panel for maintenance.

Check the power connection and circuit breaker first.

@Robin Driskill Is this the plug you are referring to? Mine slips right in the hole, but it appears that there is a rubber washer or some other part missing from mine. Husband tried to clean it and has lost something, but I don't know what it looks like. Do you have a picture of yours?

My Machine will clean but that is it . None of the lights will come on except the clean light

May 15, 2025

If the Frigidaire EFIC255-GREY machine cleans but none of the lights, except the clean light, come on, it could indicate that the ice-making process has not started. This may be because:

1. The water tank is empty or not filled properly.
2. The internal water tank baffle is not installed correctly.
3. The unit was not restarted after cleaning.

To resolve this:
- Fill the water tank.
- Check and reinstall the internal water tank baffle.
- Press the "ICE/CLEAN" button again to restart the unit.

May 12, 2025

No, you do not need to unscrew the back of the Frigidaire EFIC255-GREY to clean the internal tubes. The cleaning procedure involves unplugging the unit, removing the drain pipe to drain water, adding a cleaning solution to the water reservoir, and using the "Clean" function.

is this model completely self cleaning? I don't need to use diluted vinegar or diluted bleach to clean it?

No, the Frigidaire EFIC255-GREY model is not completely self-cleaning without the need for diluted vinegar or bleach. The cleaning process involves manually cleaning the interior with diluted detergent and warm water, rinsing, and draining. There is no mention of an automatic use of vinegar or bleach in the self-cleaning process.
