How much water does the reservoir hold?

Sharron Washington
February 9, 2025

There is a small white piece on the back of the water tank with a spring on it. This has come off of the tank and now won’t go back on. It’s not holding the water in. Just need a picture of this section of the ice maker to see how it goes in.

@Sharron Washington Did you ever figure out how to get this piece back on so the tank will hold water?

JT
March 13, 2025

UPDATE: For those seeing this comment, in @Sharron Washingtons’s picture of the spring loaded drain plug, there is a clearish white o-ring that goes around the collar of that white plastic plug. Mine popped off as I was cleaning it also and I eventually found it in my sink where I was cleaning it. The o-ring popped off the plug and I was left scratching my head as to how this plug goes back in and works to stop water from flowing out. I knew I was missing something so I had to look everywhere. That o-ring is pivotal in plugging the drain hole when the tank is pulled out of the machine.

The small white piece with a spring is the baffle for the internal water tank. To reinstall it, lift the baffle up to the top, then place it back into its original position behind the water tank. Make sure it is properly aligned and secured in place.

@JT, I did figure it out. I purchased different size rubber orings, the oring holds the plunger in place and prevents water leaking. I finally found the right size, it’s working fine now.

The Frigidaire Gallery EFIC202-BLACK ice maker may not turn on after cutting off overnight due to several possible reasons:

1. Power Issue – Ensure the unit is plugged in properly and the outlet is functional.
2. Blocked Hot Air Outlet – The hot air outlet must have at least 15 cm of ventilation. If blocked, it may cause the unit to shut down.
3. Refrigerant Issues – If the refrigerant liquid has leaked or the cooling system pipes are blocked, the unit may stop functioning. A qualified technician should verify this.
4. Cover Motor Problem – A broken cover motor could prevent the ice maker from operating.
5. High Water Temperature – If the water inside the tank is too warm (above 89.6°F), the unit may not function properly.
6. Drain Plug Issues – Ensure the drain plug is in place to avoid water leaks that might affect operation.

Try restarting the unit by pressing the ICE button to turn it off, then pressing it again to restart. If the problem persists, seek assistance from a qualified technician.

Ice is not making ice and ice that is made melting

2 comments:
Mr. Anderson
February 10, 2025

The Frigidaire Gallery EFIC202-BLACK may not be making ice due to the following reasons:
1. The ambient temperature or the water temperature in the internal reservoir is too high. Ensure the machine is operated below 90°F and use colder water.
2. The ice-full indicator may be on. Press and hold the ice-making button for 5 seconds to reset and restart ice production.
3. There may be a refrigerant leak. If this issue persists, it should be checked by a qualified technician.
4. The cooling system tube may be blocked.

Ice may be melting because:
1. The air outlet is blocked, preventing proper cooling. Ensure there is at least 15 cm of clearance around the air outlet.
2. A malfunction in the cooling system is preventing effective ice storage.

If the Frigidaire EFIC202-BLACK ice maker is not producing ice even though the power and clean buttons are lighting up, possible issues include:

1. Lack of water – Add water to the tank and press the “ICE/CLEAN” button again to restart.
2. Internal water tank baffle not installed properly – Reinstall the baffle correctly.
3. Water pump failure – Requires verification by a qualified technician.
4. Too much ice or obstruction – Remove any obstacles or clean the inside wall of the ice storage.
5. Refrigerant leakage or broken motor – Press the ICE button to restart. If the issue continues, have a technician inspect.
6. Cooling pipe blockage – Requires technical verification.
7. High water temperature – Use water between 44.6°F and 89.6°F.
8. Drain plug not in place – Ensure the drain plug is correctly inserted.

Check each of these to identify and fix the issue.

May 24, 2025

Water running into the ice bucket without making ice in the Frigidaire EFIC202-BLACK icemaker could be caused by a high water temperature in the inner tank, which should be between 44.6°F and 89.6°F. It could also indicate a malfunction in the refrigeration system, which would require verification by a qualified technician.

If the ICE button on a Frigidaire EFIC202-BLACK does not turn on, check for the following issues:

1. Ensure the unit is plugged into a properly grounded 110–115V, 60Hz outlet.
2. If the power and ICE icon are flashing, press the ICE button to power off the unit, then press it again to restart the ice-making program.
3. If the problem continues, the issue could be due to refrigerant leakage, a broken cover motor, or a blocked pipe in the cooling system. These should be verified by a qualified technician.

After cleaning the ice maker, we are unable to put the Drawer Water Tank back in totally. It appears to be hitting the water value nut not allowing it slide in as it should. The nut was removed and put back on during cleaning. Any suggestions?

If the Drawer Water Tank is not fitting properly after cleaning, ensure the following steps are completed:

1. Make sure the water tank under the drawer ice basket is empty. If it's not, unplug the water drain plug to drain it completely.
2. Confirm that the drip tray is in the correct position.
3. Ensure the lid of the drawer water tank is properly closed before pushing it back.

Following these steps can help the drawer water tank fit correctly.
