Response time

The time required for the pump output flow to change from neutral to full flow
(acceleration) or full flow to neutral (deceleration) is a function of the size of the supply
orifice in the control inlet passage and the size of the drain orifice in the control sleeve.
A range of orifice sizes is available to
assist in matching the rate of swashplate
response to the acceleration and
deceleration requirements of the
application.The table at right shows
some sample response times under
certain conditions. (These figures
-1
assume 1775 min
(rpm), 140 bar [2000
psi] system pressure, and 20 bar [290 psi]
charge pressure.) Test system pressure to
determine the proper orifice sizes for the
desired response.
