Resetting Camera In problem situatios there are two options to reset the device: 1. Restore factory settings 2. Reset the device by using reset button • Reset button is located in a small opening under display. • Reset button can be pressed with a thin object such as a paper clip. Button needs to be pressed for over 7 seconds.
Camera doesn’t start Problem description: The camera turns on and shows only the welcome view and then it shuts down. Solution: Check if the camera can be connected to the PC via USB connection. If the camera can establish a connection then go to the root of the Smartscope drive and delete all folders.
Camera shuts down (when lifted from cradle) Problem description: The camera shuts down when it is lifted from the cradle. Solution: This may be caused by empty or dead battery. The battery starts charging within a few minutes after the camera is placed in the cradle.
Camera shuts down (when connected to optics module) Problem description: Camera shuts down when connected to optics module. Solution: This could happen if there is some object (like piece of plastic or bubble wrap) attached to the electrical connector of the camera that connects to the optics module Clean the electrical connector of the camera properly before reattaching the Optics module.
Optics not recognized Problem description: The camera cannot recognize the attached optics. Solution: - Possibly dirt in the connector. - Clean both the camera and the optics connector with a cleaning cloth. - Reattach the lens firmly to the camera.
Image transfer / storage problem (NON-WIFI) Problem description: Captured image doesn’t store in the memory card of a Non-WIFI camera. Captured image doesn’t transfer from a Non-WIFI camera to the PC. Solution: Replace the memory card or try to format the memory card with a memory card adapter with your PC. Memory card should never be removed/ attached when the camera is running.
Image transfer / storage problem (NON-WIFI) Problem description: WIFI camera cannot find the memory card. Solution: Gently push with finger (not a sharp object) over the grey tape at the SD card slot. The SD card is located there and it could have moved a bit away from its location.
Focus lost Problem description: Camera lost the focus point. Solution: Try to restart the device. Compare if the sound of the focus motor has changed. Remove and reattach the optics. The patient should always look to infinity.
Error connecting to PC Problem description: Camera is recognized by the cradle (blue led is on and text ‘’connected’’ appears in the camera screen), but camera is not recognized by the computer. Solution: Check that power and USB cable connectors are firmly attached to the cradle. Check cradle connector and the camera’s bottom connector for visual damage/debris.
The Camera and EY4 module have been mixed up. Please use the same lens that was sent with the camera from Optomed. The camera and lens are calibrated as a pair. If the modules were not mixed up then please contact customer service for instructions on how to fix the centralization in the field.
Spot in image Problem description: There are some spots visible in the live view of the camera and also in captured images. Solution: Optics lens needs to be cleaned.

Tips • If computer clock has a wrong year Eye-Fi doesn’t allow account creation. Initialization succeeds but create account is greyed out. Date might have an effect too. • After creating Eye-Fi account Eye-Fi Center SW must be shut down and restarted. Then settings can be changed without enabling network mode and it is possible to take direct mode in use.
