Diskette drive light stays on.

Diskette drive cannot save
information to the diskette.

Diskette drive is damaged.
Diskette is not formatted.
Diskette is write-protected.
Diskette is full or the file is
too big.
Diskette is damaged.
File Save command not
properly executed.
Solution
Press the Help G button on
the keyboard to access the
Compaq Help & Support
Center or refer to your
Limited Warranty for details.
To format the diskette:
1. On the Windows
desktop, click Start then
click My Computer. The
My Computer window is
displayed.
2. Right-click on the
3 1/2 Floppy (A:) icon.
3. Select Format from the
pop-up menu.
4. Select the desired
options and click Start
to begin formatting the
diskette.
Slide the write-protection tab
to the unlocked position on
the diskette.
Use another diskette or
compress the file to reduce
the size.
Replace the damaged
diskette.
When saving information to
the diskette drive, verify that
you are using the correct
drive letter.
