    Preparing the Power Supply You can power the camcorder using a battery pack or directly using the compact power adapter. If you connect the compact power adapter to the camcorder while a battery pack is attached, the camcorder will draw power from the power outlet.

When you use full manual focus or manual focus, you can use the peaking and magnification functions to help you focus more accurately. Full manual focus (FULL MF): Use the focus ring to adjust the focus. The focus ring is non-perpetual (the ring has physical stops) and you can use the ring’s distance indicator.

    Adjusting the Focus Options [Instant]: Sets the autofocus mode to Instant AF. The focus is adjusted at the highest speed. This mode is useful even when recording in very bright or low-light surroundings. This mode uses both the TTL system and external sensor for focusing. [Normal]: Sets the autofocus mode to Normal AF.

    Gain The gain control adjusts the level of the video signal generated depending on the lighting and shooting conditions. You can select automatic or manual gain control.     Adjusting the Aperture You can affect the brightness of your recordings or change the depth of field by adjusting the aperture. Increase the aperture value (F8 to F9.5) so that objects that are close and far away will be in focus. You can have the camcorder adjust the aperture automatically or you can manually adjust it to give you more control over your recording.

    Recording Using the ND Filter Using the ND Filter Using the ND filters allows you keep the aperture within an appropriate range when recording in bright surroundings*. * When recording in bright surroundings, the camcorder closes down the aperture. This may cause the picture to appear blurred depending on the zoom position. Using the ND filter or setting a faster shutter speed can reduce such blur.

    White Balance The camcorder uses an electronic white balance process to calibrate the picture for accurate color display under different lighting conditions. There are 4 methods of setting the white balance. Auto white balance: The camcorder automatically adjusts the white balance to the optimal level.
