Rip Cuts
Rip cuts are easy to do with an edge
guide (Fig. 17). To attach, insert bar 23B
(Fig 15) through slots in foot to desired
width as shown and secure with the set
screw 23f.
Rip Board Guide
When rip cutting large sheets, the edge
guide may not allow the desired width
of cut. Clamp or nail a straight piece of
1" (25 mm) lumber 25 to the sheet as a
guide (Fig. 18). Use the left side of the
foot against the board guide.
Surface Preparation
(for use only with US410)
1.
Allow the tool to reach full speed
before allowing the accessory to
make contact with the work surface.
2.
Apply minimum pressure to the work
surface, allowing the tool to operate
at high speed. Surface finishing rate
is greatest when the tool operates at
high speed.
3.
Continuously move the tool in a
forward and back motion to avoid
creating gouges in the work surface.
4.
Remove the tool from work surface
before turning tool off. Allow the
accessory to stop rotating before
laying the tool down.
