Removing the Optical Drive (DVD, DVD/CD-RW)

Required Equipment
#0 Phillips screwdriver.
Small flat-head screwdriver.
Removal Procedure
1. Unplug the AC adapter, if present, and remove the battery.
2. Remove the keyboard cover (see page 37).
3. Open the keyboard (see page 38, steps 1 through 4). You don't need to disconnect the keyboard
cable.
4. Remove both retaining screws from the back of the optical drive.
5. Carefully slide the optical drive out of the notebook.
