Table 9: Phone Call Display and Alert Prompts
When you press the PTT button
and the phone system is not
available, you hear a long tone.
Press h to hang up. The radio
returns to the home display.
When a channel is not available,
you hear a busy tone.
The radio automatically connects
when a channel opens.
When the phone system is busy,
you hear a long tone.
Press h to exit the phone mode
and try your call later.
The call is not acknowledged.
Press h to hang up. The radio
returns to the home display.
Notes: • A high-pitched tone, generated when you release the PTT
button, indicates to the landline party that he or she may
begin talking.
• You have the option of sending additional digits (overdial),
such as an extension number, or credit card or PIN
numbers, to the phone system. If the radio is programmed
for live overdial, every digit entered after the call is
connected is sent to the phone system.
• If the radio is programmed for buffered overdial, the digits
pressed are entered into memory and then sent when the
PTT button is pressed. Press the PTT to send either digits
or voice, but not both at the same time.
