  • Page 16: About Hmu.dat

About HMU.dat The topological data for a HMU session is stored in an archive file found on the default path, “C:\Program Files\Compaq\HMU\HMU.dat”, or at an alternative path if one was entered during installation. The IP address for the proxy management agent for each loop and the user-entered data for unmanaged devices are always written to this file whenever HMU is shut down, or when the Save Topological Data command is selected.

1-6 Compaq Storage Hub 12 Management Utilities Hardware and Software User Guide Downlink and Uplink Ports The Downlink and Uplink Ports are defined by the physical cabling that exists between devices in the management hierarchy. Downlink Ports or Parent Ports are ports on the higher level devices to which a device lower in the hierarchy is attached.
