3.1 Flexicoil installation

1) Using U bolts provided, mount the control base
plate to the horizontal frame to the right of the
boom control valves See Figure 2 GFS control
valve installed on Rack
2) Mount GFS electrical and hydraulic valve
assembly to mount plate. Figure 2 GFS control
valve installed on Rack
3) Install the GFS cab control box in cab using Velcro
strips provided on back of case as shown in Figure
8 In Cab Control . It is preferred to have the green
LED s shaded from direct sunlight for best
visibility. Red wire must be tied in to 12V+ DC
power. The electrical connection must be fused
not greater than 15 amps. When available, use the
power point and connect to a power source that is
power off when main key switch is key off.
FIGURE 8 IN CAB CONTROL
4) Route the cable out of the cab to reach the
drawpin.
5) Install the plug onto the end of the cable using
schematic 5.1.4 GFS Cab Control Box, page 29 .
6) Route the second cab through the sprayer to
reach the center rear of boom.
7) Locate control cable 227542 with plug marked
E2 , and plug into plug E on the electrical control
box. Route the 6 wire cable to boom control block
as shown in section 5.1.3 page 28. Make the
electrical connections as per 5.1.3 GFS GENERIC
ELECTRICAL page28 .
8) Cut the wires going to the Flexicoil electric over
hydraulic coils one at a time as per GFS
GENERIC ELECTRICAL MODULE 227711. Skive
back 3/8 of coating on both ends. Place original
wire with the GFS wire in one end of the solder
connector. Place the other original wire in the
other end as shown in Figure 9 SEALED WIRE
SPLICE PROCEDURE. Use a heat gun
(preferred) or small torch to shrink the heat shrink.
OBSERVE THAT THE SOLDER MELTS AND
FLOWS ONTO THE WIRE. The result is a durable
sealed wire connection. To see the proper coils
check Figure 6 Flexicoil coils
7) Tee in the 1/2 GFS pressure input line to the
pressure input on the boom block using the run tee
provided. 5.1.2 GFS HYDRAULIC SCHEMATIC
page 27, and see Figure 4 hoses pressure and
tank
8) Tee in the ½ GFS return to tank line to a return
line using the tee provided.

PROCEDURE
9) GFS Gauge wheel mounts are the same, no lefts
or rights. Install the GFS gauge wheel mount (part
# 227771) approximately 12 inside of the main
hinge joint, on the front side of the boom. See
