Using the Scroll Wheel

(Before using the scroll wheel, refer to the steps for enabling it in "Scrolling" on page 42).
The scroll wheel is located to the right of the touchpad (Figure 14). The wheel doesn't actually turn, but
you can easily move your finger around it in a circular motion to scroll though pages and lists, the same
way you would with a scroll bar. The scroll wheel can also be used to zoom in and out on pictures. To do
so, position the cursor on a picture and move your finger horizontally across the scroll wheel to enlarge
and reduce the size of the picture.

Active Digitizer Display

NOTE: Depending upon your system configuration, in
addition to the active digitizer, you may also have a
capacitive touch panel that responds to finger touch
and gestures. (This configuration is called a "Dual
Digitizer".) For more information about the
touchscreen, refer to "Using the Optional Capacitive
Touchscreen" on page 48.
The integrated active digitizer allows you to use the
included stylus as a pointing device. You can use the
stylus to click, double-click, right-click, drag items and
icons, write text, or to draw and erase like a pen or pencil
in applications that support this behavior, such as drawing
or painting programs. The front half of the barrel button
works the same as a right-click button. The back half of
the barrel button and the eraser button on the end of the
pen both act as erasers. If using the eraser button, be sure
to depress it by pressing it on the display in order to
activate the eraser function.
