    Right-click Click the right Touch Pad control button once. Right-click the mouse once. Press and hold on the touch screen (only for touch screen models). Be careful not to open the display panel too far as this might put stress on the display panel’s hinges and cause damage.

Power button Initial setup The Windows Startup Screen is the first screen displayed when you turn on the power.

    Windows Store Although many apps are pre-installed in your computer, you can also download many others from the Windows Store. You can search for and browse thousands of apps, all grouped into easy- to-find categories there. Windows Hello Windows Hello is a more personal and secure way to sign in to your Windows system, apps, and services using fingerprint, face recognition or a PIN.
  • Page 33 Make sure all disk/disc activity has stopped before removing the disk/ disc. If you turn off the power while a disk (disc) is being accessed, you might lose data or damage the disk. Never turn off the power while an application is running. Failure to do so can cause data loss.

This recovery media can be used to restore your system after you have erased your internal storage drive.

Failure to do so might reduce image quality, possibly resulting in recognizing faces incorrectly.     For more information regarding CPU, refer to the Legal Footnotes section. Internal Storage Drive The capacity of the internal storage drive varies depending on the model. Note that part of the internal storage drive overall capacity is reserved as administration space. Your computer is equipped with a "Solid-State Drive (SSD)".

If the battery pack becomes too hot while it is being charged, the charge stops and the DC IN/Battery indicator goes out. When the temperature of the battery pack falls to a normal range, charging will resume. This process occurs regardless of whether the computer's power is on or off.

    Chapter 4 Operating Basics This chapter describes the basic operations of your computer, and highlights the precautions that must be taken when using it. Using the Touch Screen Some models are equipped with a touch screen. You can use your finger to manipulate icons, buttons, menu items, the on- screen keyboard, and other items on the touch screen.

    Turn off the computer's power. Disconnect the AC adaptor and turn on the computer's power. If it does not turn on then go to Step 4. Operate the computer on battery power for five minutes. If you find that the battery pack has at least five minutes of operating time, continue operating until the battery pack is fully discharged.

  • Page 71 If the built-in microphones are not equipped, you can connect an external microphone instead. Click Start -> Windows System -> Control Panel -> Hardware and Sound -> Sound -> Recording. Select Microphone Array or External Microphone, and click Properties. On the Levels tab, move the Microphone Array or External Microphone slider to increase or decrease the microphone volume level.

If the built-in microphones are not equipped, you can connect an external microphone instead.     You might not have all the software listed in this section depending on the model you purchased. dynabook Settings dynabook Settings is the configuration management tool available through the Windows operating system. To run dynabook Settings, click Start -> dynabook Settings.

    When you choose LCD + External Display under Power On Display option in dynabook Setup Utility while two or more external display devices are connected to your computer, the operating system will select the internal LCD and one of the external display devices to be used when the computer is started.

    Chapter 6 Troubleshooting Dynabook has designed this computer for durability, however, should problems occur you are able to use the procedures detailed in this chapter to help determine the cause. You should become familiar with this chapter as knowing what might go wrong can help prevent problems from occurring in the first place.

Inspect all connecting cables for loose wires and all connectors for loose pins.
