Using Machine with Access Point Mode

You can connect devices (e.g. computer, smartphone, or tablet) to the machine by two methods below.
• Wireless connection (connecting devices via a wireless router)
• Direct wireless connection (connecting devices using access point mode)
This section describes access point mode, which allows you to print or scan by connecting the devices to
the machine directly.
Follow the procedure below to use access point mode.
1.
Enable access point mode.
2.
Connect devices to machine.
3.
Perform printing or scanning operation.
This section also describes changing access point mode to wireless LAN.
Changing Machine Setting to Use Wireless LAN
Important
• You can connect up to 5 devices to the machine at the same time.
• Check the usage restrictions and switch the machine to the access point mode.
Restrictions
• If you use the machine with the access point mode for a long time, we recommend you change the
default password to the combination of numbers and letters from the point of view of security.
Enabling Access Point Mode
Enable the access point mode following the procedure below.
1.
Make sure machine is turned on.
2. Press and hold Wi-Fi button and release it when ON lamp flashes.
3. Press Black button, Color button and Wi-Fi button in this order.
Make sure the ON lamp changed from flashing to lit.
If the ON lamp has not changed from flashing to lit, go back to step 2.
The access point mode is enabled.
Note
• To check the machine's MAC address and serial number, and the current access point mode settings,
print out the network setting information.
