Yesterday my Canon G3070 printer stopped saving scans. It will scan a photo/document and I can click the Save button, but it doesn't save the scan. When I try to exit it tells me it will delete the scan without saving.

Your Canon G3070 printer may not be saving scans after clicking the Save button due to one or more of the following reasons:
1. Application Issue: Ensure that IJ Scan Utility Lite is being used to scan and save images. Open the scanned files in your application after saving.
2. Scanner Lock: The scanner may be locked. Exit IJ Scan Utility Lite, slide the scanner lock switch to the release position, then reconnect the USB cable.
3. Cropping Frame Settings: If no cropping frame is set in the scan preview, the entire image or individual frames may be scanned instead. Make sure a cropping frame is properly set if needed.
If these steps do not resolve the issue, try restarting the scanner and computer, then attempt the scan again.

I have a Canon 3070 printer. I just refilled the black ink cell for the first time but it will still not print the characters in black, just the other colors on the page. The manual says to fill the well to the upper limit, but I do not have enough black ink, only about 2/3 of well, Do I need to get more ink to fill to the upper limit or is there a way to compensate for this problem?

Your Canon G3070 Series printer may not be printing in black after refilling the ink tank to 2/3 of the upper limit due to the following possible reasons:
1. Air bubbles or clogged nozzles: Even with sufficient ink, air bubbles or clogging can prevent proper ink flow. Run the cleaning function to clear the nozzles.
2. Faint or streaked prints: If print results are faint or streaky despite having ink, follow the maintenance procedure.
3. Maintenance cartridge: If the maintenance cartridge is almost full, certain functions like replacing ink in the print head may not work. Replace the maintenance cartridge if needed.
4. Incorrect installation: Ensure the maintenance cartridge is correctly installed and compatible with the printer.
5. Cover not closed: Make sure the scanning unit/cover is closed after refilling, or printing may not proceed.
Check all the above points to restore normal black printing.

To scan a document using the Canon PIXMA G3070 Series, follow these steps:
1. Placing the Document: - Open the document cover. - Place the document with the side to scan facing the platen (glass surface). - Align the document with the alignment mark on the platen. - Close the document cover gently, ensuring it stays closed during scanning.
2. Using the Document Feeder (if applicable): - Load the document with the side to scan facing up in the document tray. - Insert the document until it stops. - Adjust the document guide to match the width of the document, but do not slide it too tightly.
3. Duplex Scanning (if applicable): - For duplex documents, place the front sides facing up in the document tray.
4. Important Notes: - Ensure that portions of the document near the edges (approximately 0.1 inches) are not over the scanning area, as they may not be scanned.
Once the document is properly placed, use the scanning feature via the printer's display panel or the associated scanning software on your computer to start the scan.
