The C-600f is probably the only high-end preamp currently in the market to offer tone
controls adjustable from the listening position, via the remote control – ideal for listening to
stunning performances such as Carlos Kleiber's performance of the Brahms Fourth
Symphony. This legendary 1980 performance has long been praised for its performance,
though criticized for its sonics. The massed violins play in the highest register and if played
back at a realistic level, the violin's brightness and glare can be unpleasant. From the
comfort of your listening chair, you can reduce the treble intensity and relax & enjoy this
remarkable performance. For normal recordings, the tone controls can be disengaged from
the audio circuit.
