< Preventing light interference of muting sensor >
When a photoelectric sensor (such as CX-410 series) is used as a muting sensor, light
interference may occur and disable the light curtain's muting function to operate according to
the setting. The following shows causes of light interference and countermeasures. Please take
an appropriate countermeasure to prevent light interference.
Cause

Countermeasure
(1) Light interference between muting sensors
● Increase the distance from the sensor that causes interference.
● If light reflected by the sensing object causes interference, decrease the distance between
the object and muting sensor.
● Displace the beam axis from each other to prevent interference. (Example: Change the
installation height or place them at an oblique angle.)
● Install a light shielding plate.
● Attach an interference prevention filter. (Example: PF-CX4)
● Attach a slit to reduce the light intensity. (Example: OS-CX series)
● Lower the sensitivity.
(2) Light interference from light curtain to muting sensor
● Increase the distance A between the muting sensor and the light curtain that causes
interference.
● Displace the beam axis from each other to prevent interference. (Example: Change the
installation height or place them at an oblique angle.)
● Install a light shielding plate.
● Set the muting sensor and the light curtain that causes interference in a staggered
arrangement.
● Lower the sensitivity of the light sensor affected by interference.
