STOPPING T HE G ENERATOR:
1. Turn t he F uel V alve t o " OFF" p osition
1. Unplug a ll e lectrical l oads o r t urn t he m ain b reaker t o t he " OFF" p osition.
2. In o rder t o s tabilize i nternal e quipment t emperatures, a llow t he e ngine t o r un
for 3 -­‐5 m inutes u nder n o l oad.
3. If t he g enerator w ill n ot b e i n u se f or m ore t han 7 d ays, t urn t he f uel v alve t o t he
"OFF" p osition a nd a llow t he u nit t o r un u ntil t he f uel i n t he c arburetor i s u sed
and t he e ngine s huts i tself o ff.
4. Turn t he i gnition s witch t o t he " OFF" p osition.
5. Allow u nit t o c ool t o a mbient t emperature b efore s torage o r t ransportation.
6. Always t ransport t he g enerator w ith t he f uel v alve i n t he " OFF" p osition. F ailure
to d o s o w ill r esult i n d amage t o t he e ngine.
USAGE I N H IGH A LTITUDE R EGIONS:
In r egions w ith h igh a ltitude, t he s tandard c arburetor p roduces o verly d ense
combinations o f f uel a nd a ir, w hich r esult i n d ecreased e ngine p erformance a nd
increased f uel c onsumption. T o m aintain h igh e ngine p erformance a t h igh a ltitudes,
install a h igh a ltitude c arburetor m ain s pray n ozzle a nd r e-­‐adjust t he a djusting
screw f or i dle s peed. F or u sage i n r egions w ith a n a ltitude o f o ver 4 ,527ft ( 1380m),
contact y our d ealer t o r eplace t he s tandard c arburetor a nd m ake n eeded
adjustments i n a dvance. E ven w ith a p roper h igh a ltitude c arburetor s pray n ozzle
installed i n t he e ngine, t he p ower o utput o f t he e ngine w ill d rop a bout 3 .5% w ith
every 1 000ft ( 305m) i ncrease i n a ltitude. I f t he s tandard c arburetor j ets a re n ot
replaced a nd a djusted f or u sage i n h igh a ltitude, t he i ncreased a ltitude e ffect w ill b e
even m ore s evere.
NOTE: U sage o f t he w ater p ump i n r egions w ith l ower a ltitude t han t he h igh
altitude c arburetor s pray n ozzle i s a pplicable, m ay r esult i n d ecrease o f
engine p erformance. T he e ngine m ay b ecome o verheated a nd o ver-­‐lean
combination o f f uel a nd a ir p roduced, m ay c ause s evere d amage t o t he e ngine.
