Using sheet metal screws, attach the filter rack to the
bottom of the furnace. It is recommended that weather-
stripping or sealant be used between the filter rack and
the furnace casing to reduce air leakage.

For upflow platform return applications, cut the hole in
the platform the same size as the opening in the bottom
of the filter frame. See Figure 2.

For horizontal applications, attach the return air duct to
the bottom side of the filter rack. See Figure 3.

For the 1BR01XX models, install the filter into the slot in
the filter rack.

For the 1BR02XX models, install the filter provided into
the 2" slot in the inner side of the filter rack.
9.
For the 1BR02XX models, if a 1" filter is to be used, it will
fit into the 1" wide slot provided.
10. For the 1BR02XX models, if a 4 or 4-3/8" filter is to be
used, remove the two internal removeable rails in the fil-
ter rack. These will slide out of the filter door, leaving a
space wide enough for a thicker filter.
