Quick Start Reference Card

POWER:

Power your Atlas with the included power supply, or a regulated PSU with 9 Volts DC
center-negative tip @ 160mA of current.

CONTROLS (NORMAL MODE):

THRESHOLD – Adjusts the compressor threshold from low to high. Lowering the threshold will
result in a more compressed sound. Range varies depending on selected compressor type.
RATIO – Adjusts the compression ratio from low to high. Turning up the ratio will result in
more compression. The ratio range also varies depending on the selected compressor type.
BLEND – Sets the wet/dry mix of the signal from 100% wet at full CCW to 100% dry at full CW.
When using the DUAL setting, the Blend knob crossfades between high and low bands.
OUTPUT – Sets the final level of the signal (after the Blend control) from -24 to +24 dB.
CONTROLS (ALT MODE – Press the CONTROL button to enter/exit ALT mode):
MAKEUP (Threshold knob) – Makeup gain is automatically applied depending on the
compressor Threshold, Ratio, and Attack. The amount of makeup gain can be manually
adjusted up or down using this knob in ALT mode. The 12 o'clock position is neutral (0 dB).
TONE – Treble cut or boost. 12 o'clock is neutral (no boost or cut).
ATK – Adjusts the Attack of the compressor from fastest to slowest. Varies with selected type.
REL – Adjusts the Release of the compressor from fast to slow. Varies with selected type.
TOGGLE SWITCH – COMPRESSOR TYPE SELECTOR

STUDIO
Rackmount VCA-style compression. Fast response and a hard knee
OPTICAL
Mimics the smooth response of high-end rackmount LA2A optical compressors
DUAL
True dual-band compression. Crossover frequency of 330Hz (83Hz for bass)
STUDIO (Alt) 1176 FET type compressor. Fast attack range and snappy response
OPTICAL (Alt) LED based pedal compressor. Fast attack and soft, wide knee
DUAL (Alt)
Dual-band compressor isolating very high frequencies for maximum clarity

BASS PRESET MODE

The Atlas Compressor features an alternate set of factory presets tuned especially for bass.
This mode can be selected by holding down the CONTROL/ALT button while powering on the
pedal. The small green LED will blink once to indicate normal (guitar) mode and twice to
indicate bass mode. Release the CONTROL/ALT button to select the desired mode.

LED GAIN REDUCTION DISPLAY

The On/Off LED is used to display the gain reduction of the compressor by shifting the color
from green to red. This feature can be always on or only on when adjusting the Ratio and
Threshold knobs. Toggle this option by pressing the footswitch while holding CONTROL/ALT.
