PROBLEM
Chain saw does not cut

CAUSE
◾
Insufficient chain tension.
◾
Dull chain.
◾
Chain installed backwards.
◾
Worn chain.
◾
Dry or excessively stretched chain.
◾
Chain not in bar groove.
◾
The chain will become loose as the
temperature of the chain increases
during normal saw operation.
◾
Chain does not engage drive
sprocket.

SOLUTION
◾
Readjust the chain tension, following
the section: "ADJUSTING THE CHAIN
TENSION".
◾
Sharpen the chain.
◾
Reinstall the saw chain, following the
section "ASSEMBLING/REPLACING THE
BAR AND CHAIN".
◾
Replace the chain, following the section:
"ASSEMBLING/REPLACING THE BAR AND
CHAIN".
◾
Check the oil level. Refill the oil tank if
necessary.
◾
Reinstall the saw chain, following the
section: "ASSEMBLING/REPLACING THE
BAR AND CHAIN".
◾
Tighten the chain tension, following
the section "ADJUSTING THE CHAIN
TENSION".
◾
Reinstall the saw chain, following the
section: "ASSEMBLING/REPLACING THE
BAR AND CHAIN".
