BOTTOM BRACKET TAPPING SET

VAR thanks you for purchasing CD-38200, specially designed for simultaneous

threaded bottom bracket shells tapping and facing.

CD-38200 can be equipped with the following taps :

- BSA/ISO/English (CD-38210-1.370 right handed & CD-38211-1.370 left handed)

- ITA/Italian (CD-38210-36)

- T47 (CD-38210-47 right handed & CD-38211-47 left handed)

For threaded bottom bracket shells facing, this tool can be equipped with CD-38340

shell facing kit.

Please read this manual carefully before each use.

Recommendations

CD-38200 with its taps and facing cutter are precision tools that have to be used and

stored with care and stored avoiding shocks, falls and mistreatments.

Taps and facing cutters must be cleaned after each use, with a lubed cloth or an

anti-rust solution.

Never use traditionnal lubricants, which are not suitable in metal machining and

lower the machining quality and your cutting tools lifespan.

Page 2 8. Remove the taps simultaneously from the bottom bracket shell, in order not to damage the newly created or refreshed threads. 9. Thoroughly clean the bottom bracket shell with a clean cloth, a brush and VAR NL-75300 degreaser to remove any used cutting fluid and metal shavings.

Generously and regularly spray the facing cutter and the being machined side of the frame with VAR CD-77000 cutting fluid, in order to obtain qualitative results and expand your CD-38310-45 facing cutter lifespan. 5. Rotate the tool support clockwise only, to begin the bottom bracket shell facing.
