Troubleshooting
Problem
Misfeeds occur frequently.
An error message remains,
even if misfed paper is re-
moved.

Cannot print in duplex
mode.
You forgot your key opera-
tor code.

Causes
The tray's side fences may
not be locked.
The tray's end fence may
not be set properly.
You may have loaded pa-
per of a size not shown on
the paper size selector.
When a misfeed message
appears, it remains until
you open and close the cov-
er, as required.
You cannot use paper in
the bypass tray for duplex
printing.
[Off] is selected for [Duplex]
in Printer Features.

Solutions
Check the side fences are locked.
p.42 "Changing the Paper Size".
Check the end fence is set properly.

When using paper of a size that can-
not be detected automatically, use
Tray Paper Settings to set the paper
size. See p.27 "Tray Paper Size:Tray
1–4" and p.59 "Copy Paper".
Clear misfed paper, and then open
and close the front cover. See p.39
"x Clearing Misfeeds".
For duplex printing, select Tray 1-4
in copier mode or with the printer
driver.
Select [On] for [Duplex] in Printer
