PART NAMES AND SETTINGS Part Names This section describes the part names of the QA1S6ADP-S1. No. Name Application Extension cable connector A connector for sending/receiving signals to/from the main base unit or another extension base unit. An extension cable is connected here. Extension level setting A connector for setting the level of the extension base unit connector...
Extension Level Setting The extension level must be set to both the QA1S6ADP-S1 and the extension base unit. Set the same level to the extension level setting connectors of the QA1S6ADP-S1 and the extension base unit. Caution • Set the extension level setting connectors correctly. If the different levels are set to the QA1S6ADP-S1 and the extension base unit, more than one level is set, the levels overlap, or no level is set, incorrect input or output is generated.
MOUNTING AND INSTALLATION Mounting/Removing the QA1S6ADP-S1 Precautions • Ground the FG terminal of the programmable controller with a ground resistance of 100 or less. • When the QA1S6ADP-S1 is mounted on the A1S5B, the ground cable connected to the FG terminal of the A1S5B must be the one with its core wire size 2...

Connect the ground cable to the FG terminal of the A1S5B (when the A1S5B is used). Mount the QA1S6ADP-S1. • Insert the connector of the QA1S6ADP-S1 QA1S6ADP-S1 to the extension cable connector (IN side) Adapter mounting of the extension base unit, and fix the screw (M3×6) adapter with the adapter mounting screws (three locations).
Connecting/Disconnecting Extension Cables Precautions • When laying extension cables, maintain the minimum bending radius of 55mm or more. Failure to do so may cause malfunction due to characteristic deterioration or cable disconnection. • Keep the overall cable distance of extension cables within 13.2m. •...
Connecting procedure Remove the seal over the extension cable connector (IN side) of the QA1S6ADP-S1. Extension base unit QA1S6ADP-S1 Sticker Remove the thin-walled part of the extension cable connector (OUT side) of the QA1S6ADP-S1 using a tool such as a flathead screwdriver (5.575, 6100). Extension base unit Cuts on the thin-walled part...
Hold the connector part of the cable, and insert it to the connector of the QA1S6ADP-S1. Extension base unit QA1S6ADP-S1 Connector Extension cable Fix the cable with the fixing screws (tightening torque: 0.20Nm). Extension base unit Flathead screwdriver QA1S6ADP-S1 Fixing screw When connecting the QA1S6ADP-S1 to the upper level extension base unit with an extension cable, connect the IN side connector of the QA1S6ADP-S1 and the OUT side connector of the upper level extension base unit.
PRECAUTIONS FOR USING THE QA1S6ADP-S1 Current Consumption of the QA1S6ADP-S1 Voltage (5VDC) is supplied to the QA1S6ADP-S1 from the power supply module on the main base unit. Select the power supply module considering the current consumption of the QA1S6ADP-S1. The current consumption of the power supply module on the main base unit will be as follows.
Voltage Drops Across the QA1S6ADP-S1 and Extension Cables Voltage (5VDC) is supplied to the QA1S6ADP-S1 from the power supply module on the main base unit. Voltage drops occur across the QA1S6ADP-S1 and extension cables due to their resistance. If the specified voltage (4.75VDC or higher) is not supplied to the QA1S6ADP- S1+A1S5B/A1S6B, incorrect input or output may be generated.
In the system above, the sum of the voltage drops will be as follows. Extension level Voltage drops across the QA1S6ADP-S1 and extension cables 1st level V1S=V1+RAIA=R1(I2+IA3)+RAIA 2nd level V2S=V1+V2+RA(I2+IA)=V1+R2(I2+IA2)+RA(I2+IA) 3rd level V3S=V1+V2+V3+RAIA=V1+V2+R3IA+RAIA Check that the condition (0.15>VnS) is satisfied. To connect the QA1S6ADP-S1+A1S5B to the main base unit, it is recommended to use the shortest extension cable possible so that the voltage drop is minimized.
EXTERNAL DIMENSIONS The external dimensions of the QA1S6ADP-S1 are shown below. 78.5 (Unit: mm) When an extension cable is connected Power supply module Extension cable 93.6 (Unit: mm)
