If the batteries are left aboard, make sure they are fully charged, otherwise the

batteries can freeze and crack.
9.8 Checklist: Before launching
1. Remove the tarpaulin in good time before launching.
2. Wash the hull with a regular shampoo and a soft brush.
3. Wax the hull, if necessary.
Use a standard boat wax.
4. If there are small scratches on the hull or if some of the surface gelcoat has lost its shine, use a
rubbing compound on these areas before polishing.
5. Paint the bottom with antifouling paint.
6. If the batteries have been removed, put them back and check the electrolyte level in the cells.
Check the condition of the batteries.
7. Check all cables, clamps, engine mountings and other fastenings.
8. Check the steering before launching.
9. Check the instrumentation.
10. Close all water drain plugs.
11. Check that the seacocks are tight and in order, check for any frost damage.
12. Check all pipes, hoses and cocks.
13. Make a note of any frost damage.
